As you’re planning for your reaalllyyyy long flight to India, here are some important deets!
And for those traveling from within India — we got you covered too!
Accommodation 🏠
We’ll be arranging accommodation for our out-of-town guests, so please RSVP by 30 June here.
If you’d prefer to make your own arrangements, just let us know via the RSVP link. Rooms are available for check-in from January 3rd, with check-out on January 6th.
Travel Tip:
Plan to arrive on January 3rd—ideally in the morning or early afternoon—to ensure you’re here in time for the evening festivities.
Visa Requirements 🛂
If you’re not an Indian citizen, you will need to obtain an Indian visa (for real). But it’s pretty easy…just don’t wait till the last minute.
Applying for an e-visa is typically the fastest option. Please check out this link for the most up-to-date requirements.
Travel Tip:
Begin your application well in advance of your travel date. Imagine the FOMO because you applied too late…don’t be that person.
Flights ✈️
Book your flights to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (CCU) in Kolkata.
Check websites like Google Flights or Expedia for the best route options.
Travel Tip:
Airlines with connections from the Middle East (Qatar, Emirates, etc.) are typically the best options from Europe and USA.
Maybe think twice if you spot a good deal on Air India. Fly it at your own peril ⚠️
SIM Cards 📶
eSIM providers Holafly and Airalo are blocked in India. Your best bet is purchasing a prepaid SIM card at the airport or a local shop. Airtel, Jio, and Vi are among the reliable telecomm companies.
